Phase Shifting Transformer Electromagnetic Model Dedicated for Power System Protection Testing in a Transient Condition

Complex phase shifting transformer protection scheme and complexity of the object itself created a need to use simulation programs for their analysis. Often (PST) are modeled as simplified series impedance quadrature voltage source which cannot be used power system analysis, especially in transient condition. Therefore, procedure building realistic PST model was presented by using available models with calculation parameters including interconnections between units. Paper consist calculations based on case study symmetrical dual-core example. Additionally, theoretical background principle, operation, impact were introduced numerus examples verification.
